“THE DISH” Submitted By: Minori Nabeshima (Japan), ASSE Exchange Student hosted by the

Bring the flavors of Japan into your home by trying this traditional dish found in many Japanese households.
History of “The Dish” – Tonkatsu is one of the most popular dishes that can be found in Japanese homes and restaurants. In fact, it is so popular that tonkatsuya (tonkatsu restaurants) are among the most well known restaurants in Japan. Tonkatsu is prepared by cutting pork fillets into thick cutlets. The cutlets are then dipped in egg and breaded, before being cooked in hot oil.
Recipe of Tonkatsu (Japanese fried pork)
